Kyokushin Karate
Karate as a whole derives its origin from Okinawa, but since its introduction to Japan, it has split into a variety of styles. Of those styles, Shotokan and Goju-ryu are the parent styles of Kyokushin karate. Founded in the 1960’s by Masutatsu Oyama, Kyokushin is well-known for its rigorous training regimen, full contact tournaments, and its extensive kata.
